Okay, now that the whole Hollywood writer’s strike hu-ha is over and done with – and we can eagerly await the continuation of 24, The Big Bang Theory, Psych, How I Met Your Mother and such – I’d just like to tell our own Mediacorp Channel 8 writers that its about time they ended theirs too.

Yup, thats right.

For the past 2 years or so, local Channel 8 writers have actually been holding mental pickets (since having an actual demonstration is illegal), but this little point might have escaped those less observant due to the fact that the gahmen has actually been covering it up: by taking on the jobs themselves.

Well, you may argue but unless you can come up with a better way to explain the proliferation of drama serials promoting family values, HDB neighbourliness and care for the terminally ill, not to mention endless singing competitions as buffers for un-creativity, I’m sticking with this.

Come back, Channel 8 writers who used to entertain!

The Big Bang Theory is coming back Monday March 17 at its new time slot of 8:00. I can’t wait.
